E-Play:

Biljana Todorovski, Damjan Dašić, Marko Milivojević and Maja Cvetković

The ten year career of the music band E-Play has coincided with the key socio-political period in Serbia, which can have a positive effect on a rock and roll band, but not in this surrounding. In this case the undeniable talent of the bands such as E-Play has been pushed to the side so that with each new album it feels like Maja (Cvetkovic) and Biljana (Todorovski) have to start from scratch. Fortunately, their enthusiasm and persistence have made the band's name truly memorable.

Ten years ago E-Play debuted and won at the Urban Demo Fest giving them the opportunity to record their first album. The single "Zasto?" (Why?), offered a taste of the dynamics and fusion of multitude of influences of modern music that was to come with the album. Extremely energetic bass, screaming guitars, virtuous effects and racing drums intermingle with the Biljana's slower vocals. Soon after, the music video was visually experienced in a similar way by the director Milorad Milinković. Sometime after, the debut album was released together with a couple of videos and singles to promote it, including "Pop", "Prvi pogled tvoj" (Your first look used for the movie "Munje") and "Better than You". After the unexpected invitation to perform at the BeoFest, dedicated to the city of Belgrade in Bologna (Italy) the song "Echo Tone" became the logical choice for the last video of the album. Very subtle and gentle song with the atmosphere of a jazz session is accompanied with the material recorded during the stay in Italy.

Since all the work relating to the promotion of the album was left to the band, E-Play took things into their own hands ready to persevere and position the band in a stable, artistic and professional way.

"It is very hard to achieve that, to be a musician and have a professional attitude in the surrounding that is everything but, at least as long as rock and roll is concerned. The situation called for maximal personal engagement, energy and patience so that everything works out the way we want - with good production, good music videos, good photography and good sound at the concert" (Biljana Todorovski). Band member changes (Damjan Dašić joined as the drummer and Marko Milivojević on the groove box) contributed to the more compact but at the same time more complex sound on the second album "Crime" (2005). The album was compiled of songs rich with dance moments and fast transforming rhythm. Songs "In the Middle", "Prava stvar" (The real thing) and "Wanted" combine a multitude of elements in pursuit of the development of the song and dynamics of the lyrics. E-Play breaks up the classical format of a song into segments by not complying with the usual verse-refrain-verse format. Such format is present in the songs "One Again" and "Wish". The refreshment in the form of the groove box contributes to the richness of the album "Crime", adding to it the necessary depth and completing the atmosphere with a multitude of sounds.

The release of the new album was announced by the music video (directed by Marko Sovilj) and single for the song "Sramota" (Shame). Third album with a spectacular name "Drago mi je da smo se upoznali" (Pleased to meet you) was released by the Exit film festival Cinema City.

"We are pleased to meet the people that contributed to the release of this album, and above all we are pleased to meet each other and achieve our goals in this way. The name also means that we appreciate everyone that comes in contact with our CD" (Maja Cvetković).

The latest album has found the perfect balance and it was inspiringly produced by Nikola Vranjković. The band sounds more relaxed, with minimalist lyrics sufficient to complete the sonic, often psychedelic guitars in the background and at moments extreme percussions with unavoidable electronic "pathos". The guest musicians on this album include Aleksandar Petrović - Alek from Eyesburn playing drums in two songs ("Loš dan" (Bad Day), "Bez reči" (Without words), Bane (Sunshine) in the song "Vremeplov" and Dejan Hasečić on the keyboard.

The album "Drago mi je da smo se upoznali" (Pleased to meet you) will be followed with a couple of remixes that will be available primarily on the E-Play website, and the remix by Marko Nastić for the song "Too Late" that will be available as a bonus on the CD. The album will definitely please the fans as well as those who might have reached the plateau.

A pleasant surprise and reacquaintance often contribute to an even more solid friendship.
